Bodhi’s Story

The Bodhi Tree Community was founded by a group of Buddhists living in Milton Keynes, UK. Inspired by a deep fond for Chinese Mahayana Buddhist culture and a sense of care of the community, the centre is dedicated to spread the Dharma’s teachings.

Bodhi Tree Library was equipped with books for beginners with an interest in Buddhism to explore the Dharma.

Mission

The three Bodhi leaves in our logo symbolise our core values: Wisdom, Compassion, and Vows. These three values form the pillars of our work in spreading the Dharma and serving the community.

1. Wisdom

Through Dharma study, talks, reading groups, sharing sessions, and community gatherings, we offer an open and relax space, and inspiring everyone to apply the wisdom of the Dharma in daily life.

2. Compassion

“As kindness brings joy, compassion relieves suffering.”
We believe treating others with respect and inclusiveness. By serving and engaging with the community, we bring the spirit of compassion into action, fostering harmony, mutual care, and build more meaningful relationships.

3. Vows

Wisdom and compassion are the goals of our practice. Through serving the community, we aspire to promote social harmony and individual well being.

Summary

These values form the foundation of our centre, guiding our daily activities and programs. Through these three principles, we provide a welcoming space for study, dialogue, and practice, where all who are interested can join together to cultivate wisdom and compassion, live out the Dharma in daily life, and find their own path of growth.
